What is smart prepaid meter

A smart electrical meter is a digital electrical meter with inbuilt communication. It provides the meter data / meter readings to a remote software. The remote software can be accessed by admin/owner as well as by the resident on a web application as well as on a mobile app. The meter can be used as a prepaid meter. It means that the user has to maintain a positive balance in the electricity account. If the account becomes negative, the meter cuts off the electricity supply.
